SINGLE STAGE SYSTEM DIAL IN

How to dial in a Single Stage Nitrous system before making a pass

This is what I recommend you do to get the tune-up close before you make a pass. (This works especially well with a Flowed system) You can do this at home before you even go to the track. This works better if the nitrous system is activated with a “pushbutton”, if you have the nitrous system activating through a throttle switch; be careful of backfires! Put in the jet setting you want to try. (Always start on the smaller settings and also make sure you retard the timing accordingly) Fire the engine up, arm the nitrous system and rev it up to about 2800-3000 RPM and “Blip” the nitrous activation switch and see how "crisp"/responsive the motor is when you Blip/thumb the Nitrous button. If the engine goes from 2800-3000 RPM to 7000+ RPM instantly leave the fuel pressure set right there if not lower the fuel pressure 1/8-1/4-PSI at a time and repeat this procedure until the motor sounds crisp and responsive instead of lazy. You will be able to tell when you have it close because the engine will be real responsive when you “thumb” the nitrous activation switch. When you got it responsive, leave it set there and go make a pass; you can dial it in from there. This will help keep you from wasting a bunch of passes trying to dial the nitrous in.
